Clinical center of University of Sarajevo is a university hospital and a scientific base for students of Medicine, Dentistry, and Health studies. Department of Psychiatry of the Clinical Center is the biggest and the oldest mental health institution in Bosnia and Herzegovina, established in 1947. The main activities of the department involve psychiatric treatment, research, and educational activities. Considering the excessive experience, human resources, material and technical resources, and access to potential research subjects, Department is capable of taking part in collaborative research. Some of the research projects that were conducted involve research projects on PTSD, European framework projects, DAAD, NIHR Global health group, and Horizon 2020 projects. Department is strongly committed to the activities pertaining to strengthening research capacities and improving evaluation of mental health services in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
