Emina Ribic

Meet Emina Ribić,  Doctor of Medicine (MD). She is a research associate at Clinical Center University of Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. She has been part of the IMPULSE team since the beginning of the project, working on data collection and analysis, as well as all other tasks related to dissemination activities. A large focus of her work on the project was also planning the sustainability of the DIALOG+ intervention.

How did you get interested in this field in the first place?

My interest in the field started during medical school and only deepened when I got the opportunity to work with this amazing team of mental health professionals with various interesting backgrounds.

What got you interested in the study in particular?

Opportunity to learn more about different practices in the treatment of persons with psychotic disorders, as well as developing my research skills.

What is your favourite aspect of your work?

I got the opportunity to learn so much! Most training opportunities that were offered to research associates as a part of the IMPULSE project are not regularly available or accessible in our countries. Also, I have to mention that I've met amazing people and traveled quite a bit.

What will you take forward with you after this study has finished?

I am really satisfied with my research skills at the moment, and I think that is very important for medical doctors. Looking forward to learning more, as there is always more to learn.

Tell us a bit about yourself outside work - what do you like to do when you aren't working on research?

I am wandering on my career path quite a lot lately as I started working in the Emergency medical centre of Canton Sarajevo recently, so I am looking forward to new experiences in the field of emergency medicine. When not working in the ER and on IMPULSE, I am trying to enjoy theatre as much as possible and trying to further build up my parenting skills.
